About this piece

Lot of 4 original vintage black and white snapshot photographs of early motor vehicles, roughly 1910s to 1940s: a wrecked open touring car, a boy at the door of a Model T style coupe, a crawler tractor with crew, and a man beside a wood-body station wagon in snow. The smaller prints are about 2.9 x 4.5 inches. All show age and handling; the station wagon photo has creases and cracks through the image.

• Wrecked touring car: an early open touring car with wooden-spoke wheels lies smashed at the side of a dirt road, top collapsed, with another car stopped behind. Back blank with light spotting. Light edge wear.

• Model T style coupe: a boy in a cap and coat stands at the open door of an early closed coupe parked on fallen leaves along a residential street with houses behind. Pencil number on the back. Light surface marks.

• Crawler tractor: two men in caps ride a tracked crawler tractor with workers and equipment behind, shown with black photo corners. Sepia tone, back blank with light toning.

• Woody station wagon: a man in a cap and sweater stands by a wood-paneled station wagon on a snowy street, deckled edges. Back penciled "the winder of 1942" (last digit may be overwritten) and stamped 320 B. Creases, cracks and edge chips.

No places are named on any of the photos. A good group for automobile, early motoring and machinery collectors.
