Antique 1904 school souvenir booklet from Hickory School, Number Nine, Mt. Pleasant Twp., Washington Co., Pa., for the term August 31, 1903 to March 30, 1904, "Presented By Ethel Rea McNary, Teacher." Gray card cover printed SOUVENIR and 1904 in red, with an inset oval photograph of a young woman in a high-collared blouse, tied with the original twisted cord. About 4.5 x 6.6 inches. Used condition: cover edge wear, a clipped top corner and small crack to the title leaf, a pencil mark at the top of the title page, and light toning.

The title page lists the school officers: E. G. Emery, W. H. McBride, S. A. McCalmont, W. E. Rankin and Thos. Butterworth, with Silas Gault and Henry C. Kaste (Musical Instructor). Turn-of-the-century teacher's souvenirs like this usually list every pupil on the inner leaves, which makes them a favorite with genealogists and county historians.

A great piece for Washington County, Pennsylvania one-room school and family history collectors.
