About this piece

Lot of 7 Depression-era report cards for one student, Victor Zuccolito (later written Zucco), following him from 7th grade through his junior year, 1932 to 1936. Six are from Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh, Pa. — one "Mt. Lebanon High School" Form No. 2 card (semester beginning Feb. 1, 1932) and five "Mt. Lebanon Junior-Senior High School" Form 3 pupil report cards covering 1932-33, 1933, 1934 and both semesters of 1934-35. The seventh is a folding Millvale High School report card for his Junior year beginning September 1935. Cards about 5 x 8 inches; the Millvale card about 4.3 x 6.9 inches. Used condition: toning, light soiling and edge wear throughout, a center crease on one card, reddish-brown stains on the back of the 1932 card, and the student's surname on the Millvale card partly blacked out and rewritten.

The cards carry the grades, homeroom numbers and promotions from room to room, handwritten and stamped teacher names (M. E. Leeper, H. S. Konvolinka, Pauline K. Fish, M. R. Burrows and others), principal L. E. Perry's signature, and a parent's signature, John Zuccolito / John Zucco, on most reports. The Millvale card lists English, history, shorthand (dropped), typewriting, mechanical drawing and shop, with supervising principal V. C. Holsinger and principal J. P. Swain printed.

A rare continuous run for one Pittsburgh-area student, great for Mt. Lebanon and Millvale school history, genealogy, or Italian-American family history in western Pennsylvania.
