About this piece

Two-piece East Coast travel lot.
• Patrick Henry Inn, Williamsburg, Virginia — oversize Best Western advertising mailer card, "Litho in U.S.A. 1974," about 4.1 x 8.9 inches. Color photos of the dining room, a guest room and the pool, an illustrated street map to the Colonial Capitol, Busch Gardens and Carter's Grove, and a list of amenities, with the inn's York & Page Streets address. Posted August 7, 1975 with a 10c Jefferson Memorial stamp, with a short message ("It's awfully hot here") to Struthers, Ohio.
• "Seeing the Nation's Capital," prepared by the Greater National Capital Committee of the Washington Board of Trade, Washington, D.C., dated 9-1-54 — a two-sided sightseeing sheet listing attractions from Alexandria and Arlington National Cemetery to the White House and the Zoo, with hours and admissions (Washington Monument elevator 10 cents), about 5.2 x 8.6 inches.
Used condition: the Patrick Henry card has postal marks, writing, light soiling and minor edge wear; the D.C. sheet has fold lines, old tape stains at the corners, a pink paper remnant, toning, and pen checkmarks beside many sites.

The checkmarks look like a 1950s visitor's own sightseeing tally. Good for Colonial Williamsburg, Best Western and Washington, D.C. travel collectors.
