Set of three Thorofare Markets, Inc. Food Coupon Credit scrip coupons in 1 cent (white), 5 cent (pink) and 10 cent (aqua) denominations, each about 3.1 x 2.1 inches. Each is stamped VOID in blue on the back. All three are crisp and clean with no folds.
Each coupon reads "Acceptable at face value on future food purchases—in accordance with the Federal Food Stamp Program," with the denomination printed in five circles and a security-pattern background on the colored pieces. These credit slips were handed out as change when shoppers paid with food stamps, so a grocery chain's own issue like this is a neat bit of supermarket and welfare-program history.
A nice small grouping for scrip, token-and-coupon, or grocery advertising collectors.
