About this piece

Kaufmann's Storagram, June 1946 Diamond Jubilee Issue, the employee magazine of Kaufmann's department store in Pittsburgh, celebrating the store's 75th anniversary. Black cover with pink roses, diamonds and a large 75. About 8.8 x 11.4 inches. Good used condition with light wear and a soft vertical fold line inside.

Inside, a presentation page reads "This copy of the special Diamond Jubilee issue is for" with an employee's name handwritten in, followed by a letter "To Kaufmann Employes" with a portrait and printed signature of Edgar J. Kaufmann.

Stories cover the Peaks of Progress window displays and breakfast, the new "75 Club" for top employees, an International Rose Show with 15,000 roses, an Electric Cooking Show at Syria Mosque, and a television demonstration billed as the first TV show staged publicly in Pittsburgh.

A great piece of Pittsburgh retail history for Kaufmann's, department store and Edgar J. Kaufmann (Fallingwater) collectors.
