Antique Brass Era Automobile Photo Two Women in Runabout Mabel Griffith Kauffman — photo 1 of 2

About this piece

Antique snapshot photograph of two women seated in an early open runabout automobile, one at the right-hand steering wheel, parked on a grassy rise in front of trees. The car has wooden spoked wheels, carriage-style lamps, large headlamps and a rear rack. Written on the back in ink: "Mother Mabel R. Griffith Kauffman." Measures about 3.4 x 3.2 inches. Condition: fair to good, with a light crease at the left edge of the back, foxing spots and staining on the reverse, and light corner wear; the image itself is clear.

A charming early motoring image with a named sitter, good for women-and-automobile, early car and genealogy collectors.

The first word on the back appears to read "Mother" and the names are transcribed as best they can be read.
