About this piece

Butler Public Schools, Butler, Pennsylvania report card for Bernard Maynard, Broad St. Building, Grade B1, for the first half of the 1939-1940 term, with the Knowledge is Power motto on the cover. About 4.3 x 5.9 inches. It comes with his matching Butler Public Schools Elementary School Record Card (Form 102). Condition: light toning and soiling, minor edge wear and small spots; handwritten entries as issued.

The report card's back carries a printed To Parents note from Superintendent Roy W. Wiley about grade groups and teacher conferences, signed by Mrs. Earl Maynard.

The record card fills in the student's name, birthplace (Erie, Pa.), parent's name and occupation, residence street, and admission and dismissal dates in fall 1939, plus a 1939 grade line showing days present, building and teacher, with blank columns for reading, arithmetic, geography, history, civics, music and more.

A nice pair for Butler, Pennsylvania school history or Maynard family genealogy.
