About this piece

An 1892 envelope addressed in ink to Mr. George W. Wald, Monongahela City, Penna., with a Harrisburg circular date stamp of Sep 16, 10 PM, 1892 and a Monongahela City receiving backstamp of Sep 17, 1892. About 6 x 3.4 inches. Condition: the stamp has been torn away with the upper right corner, leaving only part of the barred killer; there is water staining along the top and left side, edge tears and chipping, and general toning.

A Pennsylvania postal history cover showing the full trip from the state capital to Monongahela City in Washington County, received the next afternoon. A nice reference piece for Harrisburg or Monongahela collectors and Wald family genealogy. No letter is included.
