About this piece

Color printed postcard captioned "Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, New York City," card 20, an elevated view over Brooklyn rooftops toward the two East River bridges and the Manhattan skyline. A large Squibb sign tops a building at left, and a storage warehouse sign is visible below it. Published by Alfred Mainzer, 118 East 28th St., New York 16, N.Y.; number 14814 on the front. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches, divided back reading "Place One Cent Stamp Here." Unposted and unwritten, in clean used condition with light corner wear.

Note the printer's mix-up: the back caption is headed "Brooklyn and Williamsburg Bridges" and describes the Brooklyn Bridge (opened 1883) and the Williamsburg Bridge (opened 1903), while the front names the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.

A nice skyline and bridge card for New York City and Squibb advertising collectors.
