About this piece

Linen postcard of Public Square and Terminal Tower, Cleveland, Ohio, a vertical view with the tower, the Hotel Cleveland sign, streetcars, period autos, fountain and flower beds. Card numbers 8 and 63574 on the front. Braun Art Publishing Co., Cleveland, Ohio, a Tichnor Quality Views card made by Tichnor Bros., Inc., Boston, Mass. Standard size about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Light corner and edge wear, faint cancel lines in the sky area; written and posted.

Posted with a green one-cent George Washington stamp and a Cleveland, Ohio machine cancel dated July 27, 1950, 12 PM. Addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Joe Grigg and Family, Greenville, Ill. The writers, signed "The Fiedlers," say they enjoyed the "Bap. World Alliance" (Baptist World Alliance) and people from all around the world, with some 44,800 attending, and must hurry home because Helen is being married Saturday night at 8:00 P.M.

The printed back caption notes the Union Terminal, Cleveland's new railroad station, is fifty-two stories high and Cleveland's tallest building. Pairs with a 1950 Yellowstone card to the same Grigg family.
