About this piece

Linen-finish postcard of Horseshoe Falls seen from Goat Island under colored flood lighting, captioned "P:-Horseshoe Falls from Goat Island by Illumination" with "Niagara Falls, N.Y." and number 44386 printed on the front. Published by Metrocraft, Everett, Mass. (imprint printed on the divided back with "Made in U.S.A."). Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Unposted and unwritten; light edge and corner wear with mild toning, no creases visible in the photos.

The back carries a printed caption, "Niagara Falls by Illumination," describing the Falls under flood lighting for four hours each night. The front shows the falls lit in pink, red, green and white against a dark sky, with figures on the observation walkway at the brink.

A nice example of the 1930s-1940s linen era colored night views of Niagara.
