Antique greeting postcard with a single large pink rose and dark green leaves on a metallic gold background, vertical format, no printed greeting. Divided back with brown "Post Card" heading, "This Space May Be Used For Correspondence," "For Address Only," and a stamp box reading "United States and Canada one cent, Foreign Two Cents." Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Unposted and in used condition with noticeable scuffing and fine scratches across the gold surface, a ghosted stamp-box offset at upper right of the front, and light creasing near the right edge.

The back is inscribed in pencil "[Mar]y Esther from Alice Zimmerman," with the start of the first name faint. No address, stamp or postmark, so it was likely given by hand or sent in an envelope. A small pink smudge sits at the left edge of the back.

A simple, pretty early floral card with a personal inscription.
