A little Dutch girl in a winged white cap, orange blouse, red skirt and wooden shoes carries a woven basket against a pale green tiled wall, with the greeting "A Joyous Birthday Be Yours." Posted and in used condition with corner and edge wear, a few small white surface scuffs on the red skirt, and no stamp in the stamp box.

The pencil message, dated Jan 30 190?, begins "Hello: How are you anyway. Mamma got fooled a whole week. She thought it was the twenty-fourth. It is better late than never," signed Edith Blackburn. Addressed to Miss Mary Esther Burton, 203 Wilson St., Salem, O. Circle cancel dated Feb, 190?, with the town name only partly struck.
