Antique "Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving" embossed postcard showing a large dark turkey beside an orange pumpkin, ears of corn and red cranberries, framed in a gold-brown border. Front credit reads "Painting copyrighted by S. Garre 1909"; back marked "Printed in Germany" and "No 51670." Standard size (about 5.5 x 3.5 in), divided back. Used, with light corner and edge wear and faint pencil writing along the bottom of the front.

The back carries a message in purple pencil: "Wishing you many happy Thanksgiving(s), Grandmother," addressed to Mary Esther Burton, Salem, O. No stamp or postmark; the stamp box has been inked over, so it was likely hand delivered or mailed in an envelope.

A colorful, well-embossed early Thanksgiving card with a printed copyright credit and series number, from a group of family cards sent to the Burtons of Salem, Ohio.
