About this piece

Vintage chrome postcard of Senger's Mountain Lake Resort near Greenville, Virginia. The color view shows a calm lake with a wooden dock, a green lawn and pine woods, with a mountain ridge and pink clouds beyond. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches, postally used in 1968. Condition is good with light corner and edge wear and normal handling; full message and address on the back.

The printed back reads that the resort is located 2 1/2 miles east of Greenville, Va. and U.S. #11, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, "a campers and a vacation home site seeker's paradise," near Waynesboro and Staunton. Color by C. H. Ruth. Pub. by Valley News Agency, Inc., Staunton, Va. Made by Dexter Press, Inc., West Nyack, New York.

Postmarked Newport, Tenn., 1968, with a 5 cent George Washington stamp, addressed to Greenville, Illinois. The writer, signed Joanne, says they camped at the place on the card in Virginia the night before and plan to drive to the Smokey Mountain Park in the morning. A nice road-trip piece for Virginia, Blue Ridge and camping collectors.
