About this piece
Antique color postcard of the Baptist Church, Ottawa, Ill., published by The Rotograph Co., N.Y. City, printed in Germany, card number 58254. The view shows the stone church with its tall square bell tower and spire, large rose and arched stained-glass windows, ivy on the walls and neighboring brick buildings. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Unposted and clean, with sharp color, light toning and slight corner softness.
The divided back reads "This space may be used for correspondence" and "For address only", with a stamp box marked "Domestic One Cent, Foreign Two Cents". No writing, stamp or postmark.
A nice early view for collectors of La Salle County and Illinois River valley towns, Baptist church history, or Rotograph German-printed cards.
