About this piece
Real photo postcard of the M.E. Church in Chanute, Kansas, a large brick church with crenellated corner tower, stepped gables and tall Gothic stained glass windows, seen from the street corner with bare winter trees. The front carries a handwritten caption in the negative reading "M.E. Church Chanute, Ks. 1913" with what appears to be a photographer's name at lower right. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Good used condition with light toning and some spotting on the back; unposted.
The back is a divided "Post Card" layout with Correspondence and Name and Address headings and a decorative script stamp box. No message, address, stamp or postmark.
A nice early view of a Methodist Episcopal congregation's building for Kansas, Neosho County and Methodist church history collectors.
