About this piece

Antique postcard illustrated by C.H. Twelvetrees, published by Edward Gross Co., N.Y. The front shows two children on a porch/balcony watching a bluebird perched on the railing, with a printed novelty "Your message was Good Music. Best Thanks!" greeting styled as wavy musical staff lines.

Era & dating: Undivided-back format consistent with the Dec 1901–Mar 1907 window — the printed greeting runs across the front as was standard before divided backs. The card carries an actual circular postmark reading Toledo, Ohio, dated 1902, and bears a green 1-cent postage stamp.

Type: Lithographed (printed) postcard, not a real photo.

Condition: Fair — notable edge wear with a section of paper missing along the left side, plus overall toning/creasing consistent with age and postal use. Please see photos for full condition detail.
