About this piece

ANTIQUE PHOTOGRAPH LOT — FANNIN COUNTY, TEXAS FAMILY, CIRCA 1900-1915

Five early photographs from the estate of a Fannin County, Texas family that later settled in Birmingham, Alabama. The group comprises:

  • A young couple, head and shoulders, on a dark mount bearing the blind stamp of Foster Studio, Bonham, Texas
  • A family posed before a two-story Victorian farmhouse, large format
  • An oval portrait of a woman
  • Additional portrait of featured couple
  • A later group photograph of thirteen men in overcoats and hats before a brick wall, circa 1935-1945 (included with materials purchased from same estate)

The sitters are not identified. These come from the same estate as several identified pieces — a 1905 store interior from Ladonia, Texas, and an inscribed portrait pair naming the Moore family of Windom — which are listed separately. These were purchased from the estate of Jacqueline Diane McFarland of Birmingham, AL, believed to be a descendent of the featured couple.
