About this piece
Lot of 8 vintage color photographs, 3.5x5 inches, likely 1970s, location unconfirmed but consistent with a Hawaii or tropical Pacific tourist excursion (possibly an aquarium or marine park setting for the turtle close-ups). Three photos show a tour-boat perspective of a glass-bottom/excursion boat housed in a large quonset-hut-style boathouse with tropical shoreline vegetation, including passengers (two women, a child) seated in the foreground canopy. Five photos are underwater or through-glass shots featuring sea turtles swimming near coral and rocks, one tidepool view of a turtle surfacing, and one reef scene with tropical fish (yellow tang, striped fish) near white sand and coral. All prints show significant age-related color shift, predominantly heavy magenta/pink tones typical of 1970s Kodak color stock; several underwater shots are additionally soft/blurry from the original camera or housing. No captions or text present on any photo. Sold as a themed lot documenting a vintage tropical boat and marine-life viewing excursion. Associated with the estate of USAF Col. Patricia Jane Harrington.
