About this piece
Vintage tourism booklet titled "See All of Louisiana All Year 'Round," with a colorful illustrated cover showing a Mardi Gras float, a sailboat, a cathedral, a racehorse, crawfish, a fish, magnolias and a hunter. Measures about 5.5 x 7.6 inches. Good condition overall, with light handling wear and edge rubbing; no tears or writing seen in the photos.
Inside is a two-page flower calendar centerfold, a smiling sun surrounded by a flower for each month (camellia, azalea, iris, oleander, magnolia, gardenia, crape myrtle, coral vine, hibiscus, dahlia, chrysanthemum, poinsettia), with the magnolia noted as the state flower of Louisiana. Another spread has a full-page black and white photo of the State Capitol at Baton Rouge facing page 3, "Louisiana 'round the calendar," which mentions the Mid-Winter Sports Carnival, the Sugar Bowl and Mardi Gras.
The back cover is a color photo of a crowded Mardi Gras parade seen from an iron balcony, with signs for the Hotel Francis, Hotel Belmont, The St. Charles and Regal visible along the street in New Orleans.
No publisher or date is visible in the photos; the style suggests the 1950s.
