About this piece
Lot of 4 vintage campaign pieces.
• VOTE HOFFMAN GOVERNOR — two-sided pennant-style car antenna flag, black on pink, about 9.4 x 3.6 inches, printed "Line Up Points & Press Firmly Together" and "Bend Around Base of Aerial."
• HAYNES For CONGRESS — matching two-sided antenna flag, pink on navy, about 9.7 x 4.6 inches.
• Elect VEREL MAYOR — 3 x 12 inch bumper sticker, pink on black (about 11.7 x 3.1), on a Kaeser & Blair, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio salesman's price-list backing ("Product No. 415-12," "Union Label on All Political Orders").
• "Get on the Bandwagon" — Vote for Topman — President, white satin ribbon with a fishtail end, printed in red, marked SAMCO, about 16.5 inches long.
Used condition: edge wear and slight layer separation at the ends of both flags with the adhesive edge showing, a center fold through the Verel sticker, light creases and a small spot on the ribbon.
The Hoffman, Haynes and Verel pieces carry the Sign Pictorial A.F.L.-C.I.O. Union Label, Local 820 bug. No first names, states or years are printed, so they are sold as found. Antenna flags like these turn up far less often than bumper stickers — fun for political, union-label and advertising-specialty collectors.
