About this piece
Antique sepia postcard captioned "Episcopal Church, Troy, Pa.," showing the small stone church with its open bell gable, cross and Gothic lancet window, framed by a large shade tree beside a dirt street. Published by Carpenter & Pierce Co., Troy, Pa., and printed by The Albertype Co., Brooklyn, N.Y. ("Post Cards of Quality"). Divided back, unposted, with no writing. Very good condition with sharp-looking corners and only light handling.
The fine-grained sepia image is typical of Albertype collotype printing, and the divided "This space for message / This space for address" back places it in the early decades of the 20th century, circa 1910s.
A nice small-town church view for Troy and Bradford County, Pennsylvania collectors, Episcopal church history and genealogy researchers.
