About this piece
Vintage two-view chrome postcard titled "Prescott, Arizona Mile-Hi City." The top view looks down Gurley Street toward Thumb Butte on the skyline, with the Eagle Drug Store and parked mid-century cars; the bottom view shows a downtown block with Franklins, J.C. Penney Company and a partly visible Piggly Wiggly sign, flags on the storefronts, more period cars and pedestrians. Published by Bradshaw's Color Studios, Sedona, Arizona, photos by Bob Bradshaw, number S-41155L2. Unposted. Good condition with a handwritten note on the back.
The printed back reads "Gurley Street, Prescott, Arizona. Main east & west thorofare thru Prescott - Thumb Butte shows on the skyline to the west." The handwritten note reads "Were here in 1964, Harold's home town since 1956."
Judging by the cars, the photos appear to date to around the late 1950s or early 1960s. A great downtown streetscape for Prescott and Yavapai County, Arizona collectors, and for anyone who collects J.C. Penney, Piggly Wiggly or classic car street scenes.
