About this piece
A lot of 2 unposted linen postcards of Radio City in New York City, both published by Alfred Mainzer, 118 East 28th St., New York. One shows the Radio City Music Hall auditorium with a line of dancers on stage; the other shows the Prometheus statue fountain and sunken gardens at Rockefeller Plaza. Both are clean and unposted with no writing, with light edge wear and mild age toning.
Cards in the lot:
• Radio City Music Hall Auditorium (front numbers 16615 and 90). The back reads in part: Seating 6,000, this is the largest auditorium in the world.
• Famous Prometheus Statue, Rockefeller Plaza, Radio City, New York (front numbers 63 and 14857). The back credits the fountain's design to Paul Manship and mentions the Sunken Gardens.
Standard postcard size with the textured linen finish and bright poster-style colour. A good pair for New York City, Rockefeller Center or Art Deco collectors.
