Antique Best Birthday Wishes greeting postcard showing a curly blonde-haired little girl framed in a large red wax-seal medallion on a parchment scroll, bordered with green shamrock leaves and pink clover blossoms. Embossed, divided back, printed in Germany, with the number 101 at lower left of the back. Standard 3.5 x 5.5 inch size. Condition: postally used, clean bright front with light corner wear and light toning on the back.

The back has the multi-language Post card / Postkarte / Carte postale heading, a green 1 cent Franklin stamp with a machine cancel (town not legible), and an ink message: "May your life always be long and happy. From Myrtle Hogan Jerrell," dated Jan 31st '09. It is addressed to Miss Mary Esther Burton, #203 Wilson Street, Salem, Col. Co., Ohio.

The card is unsigned; the child-in-seal design is in the style of the period's better American greeting artists.
