Antique embossed A Merry Christmas postcard from the German American Novelty Art Series No. 1048 (6 designs), printed in Germany. A red-coated Santa with a bundle of switches and an armful of dolls peers in at the cottage door while a haloed angel brings a doll to two children kneeling beside a candle-lit Christmas tree, with red apples scattered across the floor. Standard size, divided back. Bright color with light edge wear; a pencil name is written at the bottom of the front; see photos.

Not postmarked and no stamp. Addressed in ink to Mary Esther Burton, R.D. No. 2, Salem, Ohio, with a message from Helen G. inviting her to come spend a few days during vacation and to bring her doll. A small ink smear in the message area.
