About this piece
Vintage chrome postcard of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in Hannibal, Missouri. The color photo shows the white frame house with flower boxes beside the ivy-covered stone museum, with the "Tom Sawyer's Fence" historical marker at right. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches, unused. Condition is very good with clean, sharp corners and no writing.
The back explains that the frame home was built in 1844 by Mark Twain's father, and that the stone museum was built in 1937, modelled on a hundred-year-old building that stood on the site. Published by Becky Thatcher Book Shop, 211 Hill St., Hannibal, Mo. 63401. Photo by Frank North. Number 90110666, Litho in U.S.A.
A nice card for Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer collectors, literary landmarks and Missouri travel souvenirs.
