About this piece
Antique printed postcard captioned "Church of the Covenant, Washington, D.C." A sepia-toned street view of the stone church with its tall, massive bell tower. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches, divided back, unused. Condition is good for its age with light corner and edge wear; a previous owner wrote "Presbyterian" in ink below the front caption, and there is a pencil note on the back.
The back is printed in red: "Publ. by Foster & Reynolds, 1 Madison Avenue, New York. Made in Germany," card number 147 G, with the note "The Church of the Covenant (Presbyterian) with its lofty and massive bell tower is one of the chief architectural adornments of Connecticut avenue." The stamp box calls for one cent postage within the United States.
A good card for collectors of Washington DC views, church postcards and Romanesque architecture.
