About this piece

Antique printed color postcard captioned "Parr Memorial Church, Petoskey, Michigan," with the lower caption "Parr Memorial Baptist Church, Dedicated July 24, 1911," showing the red brick church with corner tower, stained glass windows and utility poles along the street. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches, divided back. Postally used with a green 1 cent Franklin stamp and a Champaign, Ill. flag cancel dated Dec 28, 1912. Condition is fair: a vertical crease runs through the card (visible on both sides), plus corner and edge wear and toning, see photos.

Published by Alton G. Cook, Petoskey, Mich., No. 482. The ink message is headed 607 W. Hill, Champaign, Ill., Saturday, and is addressed to Mr. H. C. Smith, Tolono, Ill.; the writer mentions Mr. Beeby, the Xmas season and the dinner table on Jan. 5, signed D. O. Hopkins (as read).

A good northern Michigan church view for collectors of Petoskey, Emmet County and Baptist church postcards.
