About this piece

Vintage black and white printed postcard captioned "M. E. Church South, Green St., Glasgow, Kentucky," showing the brick Methodist church with its square tower, arched windows and twin entrance doors behind bare trees. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches, white border. Postally used with a green 1 cent Washington stamp and a Glasgow, Ky. machine cancel dated Sep 1949; light corner wear and a few small marks, see photos.

Made by The Dexter Press, Pearl River, N.Y., in their Silvercraft line, per the back. The handwritten message reads in part "Hi you all, We are having a good time, expect to be home Wed. Ruby Britt had another stroke Tues. Can't feed herself," signed Maggie & Francis, and is addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Glen Hake, Wing, Illinois.

A nice small-town Kentucky church view for collectors of Barren County, Glasgow and Methodist church history.
