About this piece
Vintage sepia real photo postcard (RPPC) titled on the back "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass. and New Publishing House. General View," No. 5MC, copyright 1934 The Christian Science Publishing Society (CSPS mark on the front). The elevated view shows the domed Mother Church Extension, the original stone church with its tower, the colonnaded Publishing House at right, and period automobiles parked along the streets. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Used condition: unposted, light corner wear and toning, with pencil notes on the back.
The back is divided with "Correspondence" and "Address" headings and a "Place Stamp Here" box. Someone has written in pencil "Norway St. - Right, Falmouth St. - Left," apparently labeling the streets in the view, and there is a small pencil number near the stamp box. No stamp or postmark.
An official Christian Science Publishing Society real photo card, for church history, Christian Science or Boston collectors.
