Vintage chrome postcard of the First Christian Church, West Main and Jackson Streets, Clinton, Illinois, an MWM Color-Litho card (Aurora, Mo.), number 74,279, distributed by Harry Teague, Indianapolis. The color view shows the red brick church with its white-topped bell tower, columned portico entrance and front sign. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Postally used in 1970; light wear and toning, with faint cancel lines on the sky.

The back is printed with the church name and the motto "An Undenominational Fellowship of Obedient Believers" and carries a typed visitor note: "Dear Guest, It was a privilege to welcome you as a visitor Sunday... With this note we send an invitation to return. Yours in Christ," signed in ink by Winston Zastrow, Minister. Hand-addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Luther Ledbetter, Greenville, Illinois, with a 5 cent Washington stamp and a Clinton, Ill. 61727 postmark dated Mar 12, 1970.

A nice piece of DeWitt County church history and mid-century congregational outreach.
