About this piece
Antique divided-back postcard captioned "St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Carlisle, Pa.", showing the gray stone Gothic church with its tall square bell tower and spire, a stone wall along the sidewalk, shade trees and the street running off into the distance. Imprint on the back: "Published expressly for Trimmer's Busy 5 & 10c Stores." Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Used condition with light corner wear and some toning and staining at the top edge near the stamp.
Postally used: Carlisle, Pa. machine cancel dated Oct 20, 1924, 8 AM, with a green 1 cent Washington stamp. Addressed to Mr. & Mrs. E.K. McKee, Silsbee, Texas, and signed "Weidman" with no other message.
A nice view for Carlisle, Cumberland County and Pennsylvania Lutheran church collectors, with a Texas destination.
