Vintage linen postcard captioned "First Baptist Church, Waco, Texas", showing the domed church with its columned semicircular portico, red-roofed gables, large arched stained glass windows and flowering shrubs, with a small "First Baptist Church" sign at left. Genuine Curteich-Chicago "C.T. Art-Colortone" card, code 7B-H1050, distributed by B & W News Agency, Waco, Texas. Standard size, about 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Good unused condition with light corner wear and a small nick on the left edge.
The back reads: organized May 31, 1851; auditorium seats 2,000; located at the corner of Webster and Fifth Street South; the church ministers to the citizens of Waco and to Baylor University faculty and students. Unposted.
The Curt Teich code dates the printing to about 1947. A nice card for Waco, Texas Baptist and Baylor collectors.
