RPPC Unidentified Church Clapboard Bell Tower Real Photo Postcard AZO 1920s — photo 1 of 2

About this piece

Real photo postcard (RPPC) of an unidentified church, printed on AZO stock. Vertical view of a church with a plastered or stucco lower story, clapboard gable and square bell tower topped by a cross, an arched entry with steps and railings, and a dirt yard in front. A name sign on the tower begins with "St." but is not legible in the photograph, and no town is given. Standard 3.5 x 5.5 in, unposted and unused. Fair to good vintage condition with overall sepia toning and fading, light surface marks, a dark edge on the left side, and a faint pencil notation at the lower right of the front.

Back is blank with "Post Card," "Correspondence," "Address" and an AZO stamp box with triangles pointing up at the top and down at the bottom, a style generally dated about 1918-1930.

A good candidate for anyone researching small-town churches; the tower sign may allow identification with magnification.
