About this piece

The Voice of the Holy Trinity (Η Φωνή της Αγίας Τριάδος), a bilingual Greek and English parish bulletin published monthly by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 606 Sandusky Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is the March 1950 issue, Volume I, Number II, issued under Rev. Father Arthur G. Saridakis. The front cover shows a drawn Corinthian-column design framing a photograph of the church building. Measures approximately 8.1 x 10.8 inches, staple-bound booklet. Used condition with visible cover wear.

Condition: cover shows a vertical center crease, light edge and corner wear, staple/pin holes at the left margin from original binding, and a small handwritten pencil notation on the back cover. Interior pages are clean and complete as issued.

Inside the issue lists the parish Board of Directors and the Publication Committee by name, a dedication to Mr. Angelo Petrakos (1949 Youth Committee president, noted as then residing in Los Angeles), and a bilingual Greek/English order of services for Holy Week 1950, including a handwritten-style prayer before Holy Communion. The back cover carries a period advertisement for the Crafton Ballroom, 52 Noble Avenue, Crafton, Pennsylvania, specializing in weddings, engagements, and christenings.

A small, early-run piece of Pittsburgh's Greek-American community history, useful for local history, Greek Orthodox church history, or Pennsylvania ephemera collectors.
