Linen postcard of the Mormon Temple (Salt Lake Temple) in Salt Lake City, Utah, issued as a Union Pacific Railroad Pictorial Post Card with the UP shield logo on the back. Front shows the temple's six spires with the domed Tabernacle at left, Temple Square gardens, and period cars along the street, with mountains behind. Standard 3.5 x 5.5 in, unposted. Good vintage condition with light corner and edge wear and some toning and foxing spots on the back.
Back caption reads: "Mormon Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. This famous and dignified religious edifice is unique in architectural beauty. Near it is the great Tabernacle where a free organ recital is given daily to Salt Lake City visitors." Card number 6B-H1115; in the Curt Teich numbering system the 6B prefix corresponds to 1946.
A nice crossover piece for Utah, LDS history and Union Pacific railroadiana collectors. The linen finish shows its typical woven texture.
