1948 First Day Cover marking the Otago Centennial (1848–1948), mailed from Dunedin, New Zealand to Raynham Center, Massachusetts, USA. Cancelled with a Dunedin CDS reading approximately "...MR 48" (March 1948) alongside a University of Otago slogan/pictorial postmark.

Cachet: Bold black-printed illustrated design at left, banner-style, depicting Otago's regional exports — GOLD, WOOL, SKINS, BUTTER, GRASS SEEDS, FROZEN MEAT, HIDES, CHEESE — over a scenic mountain/coastal vignette with sheep and cattle, headed "1848–1948" and captioned "OTAGO NEW ZEALAND CENTENNIAL" with a red "FIRST DAY COVER" banner along the bottom.

Franking: Four different Otago Centennial commemorative stamps —
• 1d green, "The John Wickliffe and Philip Laing at Port Chalmers 1848"
• 2d brown, "Cromwell, Otago"
• 3d purple, "First Church, Dunedin"
• 6d carmine, "University of Otago"

Addressed in period ink to Mrs. A. Dolhain, Raynham Center, Mass., U.S. America.

Condition: VG for age — light overall toning/handling wear consistent with a 1948 cover; please review photos closely as they form part of the description.
