About this piece

Lot of 6 vintage 1970s color snapshots (3.5x5) documenting a water-skiing outing on an unidentified lake, possibly in the southeastern US. Several frames clearly show a boat with a Mercury 650 outboard motor ("MERC 650" visible on the engine cowling), with water-skiers being towed across calm, tree-lined water past lakeside cabins. One candid close-up captures a shirtless, mustached man with wet hair posed on the boat. Another shows a skier in a dramatic fall or maneuver on the wake. All prints show the pink/magenta and red-orange color shifts typical of 1970s-80s Kodak processing, with varying degrees of fading; a couple of images are notably soft/faded, reducing detail. No names or location captions are present on the photos themselves. Sold as a themed lot capturing a candid slice of American lake recreation and water sports culture from the era. Associated with the estate of USAF Col. Patricia Jane Harrington. Please review photos for condition.
